Our guest speaker Olivier Glauser, the successful young entrepreneur and founder of Shankhai Sports will share his views on innovation in China as well as talk about his experience as a venture capitalist and now an entrepreneur.
Mr. Olivier Glauser, Entrepreneur, Investor
Now running Shankhai Sports Incorporated, which he founded, Olivier Glauser previously worked for Qualcomm Incorporated & Steamboat Ventures. Prior to moving to China, Olivier had co-founded Qualcomm Ventures in 2000. He led and managed many of Qualcomm’s successful venture investments in the United States: Airvana (NASDAQ: AIRV), Spatial Wireless (acquired by Alcatel), PayPal (acquired by eBay), M7 Networks (acquired by Motricity). Before starting his investment career, Olivier led a systems engineering team which pioneered and designed next generation wireless technologies (3G-CDMA2000 and WCDMA). He played a leading role in the first deployments of commercial wireless CDMA networks in the United States and Asia and is the author of several US patents. Earlier in his career, Olivier worked at the European Commission in Brussels, where he actively participated in the WTO negotiations on liberalization of telecommunication services.
