In collaboration with ETHZ and EPFL Alumni Shanghai Chapters, swissnex China is delighted to invite ETHZ Alumnus Basile Verhulst to share the story of his 16-months bicycle journey from Paris to Hong Kong. He has traveled 18’000 km for 16 months to finally join us here in Shanghai. He will share his highlights of the journey, including stories from cultures he has encountered (from ultraconservative Muslims in Pakistan to headhunter tribes in North East India) and the lessons he takes home for life.

About the speaker:

Basile Verhulst is an ETHZ Alumnus with Swiss origins. He grew up in France and has lived in 5 different
continents. He studied Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at ETH (2016). Before starting his journey, he was working as a Machine Learning engineer in an Israeli Startup in Tel Aviv. He is looking forward to meeting you all in Shanghai, as he thinks of starting a new life here in China and South East Asia!
