On August 20th, we will invite Alex Sadeghi, Design Principal at Studiolite to give us a tour of the current architectural/spatial/crossover design scene in China. Alex will present some of his more recent projects done in China, which may be interesting to viewers for their response to general trends in the industry. For example: the online/offline dilemma, the increasing prevalence of crossover with the art world, as well as growing interest in sustainability and adaptive reuse as part of commercial strategy. He will also share his observation and opinion on the future of work from design perspective.

Past Design Projects from Alex Sadeghi at Studiolite:
Lady M Arcades by the West Lake
This flagship store designed for Lady M China is located on the shore of the legendary West Lake in Hangzhou. A modern composition on the theme of “arches by the water”, the design invites guests to embark on a journey through a succession of spaces delineated by elegant, asymmetrical curves which channel both Chinese garden design and the charm of European water towns. A tribute to the rich cosmopolitan and composite design language of the region, Lady M’s Arcades by the West Lake aim to enhance the sweet, gastronomic experience through variations on a readable design language which bridges old and young, traditional and new, all in a setting of breathtaking beauty.
ON/OFF Fashion Store
Situated in a prominent position within Shanghai’s Bund Financial Center, ON/OFF is a multi-brand store focused on up-and-coming fashion designers. Studiolite’s design aims for a trendy，artistically-inspired experience through high-end, layered spaces. By interweaving lighting, atmosphere, artful color composition, and the whimsical collision of delicate materials, a dynamic spatial succession is formed, channeling the city’s youthful vitality.
