The Consulate General of Switzerland in Shanghai and swissnex China have the pleasure to invite you to a
special networking event focusing on the Swiss region of Schaffhausen and its connections to China. The
Canton of Schaffhausen is the most northern Region of Switzerland and is famous for its wine culture, a historic
old town and for the impressive Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest waterfall. Furthermore it is home to several world
leading companies and an attractive location due to its proximity to the Zurich Airport. Schaffhausen is working
on strengthening its position globally to attract businesses and tourists.
To get a cultural and economic insight, we will discuss the qualities of the region with our two guests:

Marco Rhyner was born near Schaffhausen and since 15 years he is working for Generis AG,
specializing in providing business and consultancy services at the interface between
government and business. Furthermore, Mr. Rhyner acts as Chief Representative China of
the Investment Promotion Office of the Canton Schaffhausen and as Chief Representative
China of cleantech Switzerland since 2010.

Mujia Zhang studied mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic University of Hefei, worked as
research fellow at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH) and finished his
EMBA at the University of St. Gallen. After over 20 years of working experience at Rieter
Machine Works Ltd. in Winterthur, Switzerland, he joined Georg Fischer in 2003 and move
back to China, where he is now head of the Automotive Business Unit.
