We invite you to an exclusive event with visiting professor Dr. Peter Georg Picht from the University of Zurich who, along with Dr. Wei Cheng of ChainFunder in China, will talk about the latest Sino-Swiss blockchain trends. First, Dr. Picht will outline the latest trends in Switzerland, as well as introduce the new Blockchain Center at the University of Zurich. Dr. Cheng will follow with blockchain developments in China, and the latest “Do’s” and “Don’ts”. The introductions will be followed by a dialogue and questions from the audience.
About the speakers:
Peter Georg Picht, LL.M. (Yale) is a professor at University of Zurich and an affiliated research fellow with the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich. His teaching and writing, as well as his counseling activities focus on international private and procedural law (trust law in particular), intellectual property law, and competition law. After studying law in Munich, he did his PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition (Munich) and holds an LL.M. degree from Yale Law School. His professional experience also includes work at the EU Commission’s DG for Competition and the noted law firms Allen&Overy and Linklaters.
Wei (Chris) Cheng received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Florida. He is co-founder of ChainFunder, a top tier blockchain venture capital firm from China, and co-founder of the first Bitcoin physical shopping store, Nakamotos’ Store in San Francisco. Previously he was the head of Btctrip (China), the first bitcoin travel platform. He invested early in IOTA, Quantum Chain, Edgeless, CIVIC and IPFS.
