We are looking for a bright, self-driven and ambitious Project Coordinator Innovation and Entrepreneurship to help us plan and execute swissnex China’s many projects and activities. The ideal candidate is able to work across disciplines, happy to embrace and lead change, and ready to help us bring Swiss excellence to the next level. In this role you will not only be afforded the opportunity to further develop your networking and project management skills, you will also be able to extend your personal network of contacts in the startup and innovation field as well as in areas such as science and education. As Project Coordinator at swissnex China, you will be joining an international, dynamic and supportive team, working in a fast-paced, creative and collaborative environment at our Shanghai office.

 

Responsibilities

  • Project Coordination and Management: Organization and coordination of startup, innovation and technology related activities and events, including project management, fundraising and logistics. Design and implement in-house and external startup and entrepreneurship projects, events, conferences, workshops, fairs, delegation visits and support startups during their involvement in projects such as the Innosuisse China Entry Camp, Venture Leaders or CES Asia. Execution of specific duties related to innovation mandates (as defined per mandate).
  • Research and Trend Scouting: Conduct research on specific topics which are of relevance to startups and/or innovation mandates. Identify new trends and developments in the fields of innovation and technology.
  • Communications: Manage communication between partners, sponsors, and other project stakeholders. Update and manage activities and contacts in internal CRM system. Edit and prepare on- and offline content such as blogs or brochures and collaborate with communications team for the promotion of startup/innovation events.
  • ‘Connecting the dots’ & Networking: Act as a connector between people and ideas. Attend relevant events, conferences and meetings in China. Cultivate existing relations with partners and stakeholders and develop new contacts and networks in China relating to startups, innovation and technology.
  • Other administrative and support duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Swiss or Chinese passport holder (CH / CN citizenship only)
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree, preferably from a Swiss University or University of Applied Sciences
  • Proven record (2 or more but less than 5 years) of work, preferably with project management experience
  • Understanding of and interest in startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem
  • Experience in or understanding of science, technology and innovation, and enthusiasm for swissnex’s mission: furthering and promoting Swiss excellence in education, research and innovation
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and flexible for occasional evening or weekend assignments
  • Proactive networker
  • Organized and reliable
  • Proven ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
  • Prioritize tasks under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Serious attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Excellent command of English and Mandarin; knowledge of a Swiss National language (German, French, Italian or Romansh) would be an advantage

As an outgoing media-savvy marketer with outstanding communications, media relations and organizational skills, you will complement our team by coordinating and supporting our communications activities with external and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate is able to work across disciplines, happy to embrace and lead change, and ready to help us bring swissnex’s outreach to the next level. As Junior PR & Communications Manager at swissnex China, you will be joining a dynamic and supportive team working in a fast-paced, creative and collaborative environment at our Shanghai office.

 

Responsibilities

  • General Communications: report to and support the Communications Manager in further developing, strengthening and implementing swissnex China’s on- and offline communications strategy. Working closely with the Junior Digital Marketing Manager, oversee marketing & communications tasks related to swissnex projects and activities, from copywriting, translation, marketing analytics, graphics work to videos editing. Help maintain and grow database of contacts for the swissnex CRM: invitations, newsletters (MailChimp) and announcements.
  • PR & Media Outreach: research and build a network of media contacts for press release distribution and invitation to swissnex China events. Reach out to media and partners for the promotion of swissnex activities. Identify opportunities to increase the visibility of Swiss scientific, technological and academic institutions. Conduct and compile research for new communications opportunities.
  • Web & Social Media: help develop a solid and coherent communications strategy, and ensure a positive and innovative presence of swissnex China across various web/social media channels. Conceptualize compelling content, schedule and implement social media / web campaigns using the Social Media Calendar.
  • ‘Connecting the dots’ & Networking: act as a connector between people and ideas.
  • Other administrative and support duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Swiss or Chinese passport holder (CH / CN citizenship only)
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree, preferably from a Swiss University or University of Applied Sciences
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, avid networker and strong presentation skills
  • Proven ability to work well and prioritize tasks under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Serious attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Proactive, reliable, independent, team player, organized
  • Previous experience in a PR and / or Communications role preferred
  • Strong creative ability in copywriting, editing, video, and design with samples of your work to share

We are looking for a highly motivated Science Outreach Intern who is passionate about advancing scientific outreach and communicating the importance and impact of science to society. As Junior Project Manager, you will work closely with the CEO and the Communications team to compile and publish our science newsletters informing on the most exciting scientific developments, emerging trends and collaborative opportunities in Switzerland and China. By finding and publicizing the most newsworthy scientific papers coming out of both countries, you will gain real-world experience working as a public information officer at an official representation of Switzerland in one of the fastest-changing regions of the world. Additionally, you will be tasked with supporting the CEO with the coordination of science diplomacy projects and high-profile delegation visits. In this role you will not only be afforded the opportunity to take part in the planning and execution of exciting projects and events, you will also be able to extend your personal network of contacts and gain practical experience by supporting the team in administrative and operational tasks. Responsibilities

  • Research: Identify newsworthy information and trends from university / public outlets and scientific journals for the science newsletters. Serve as a resource and advocate for Swiss-based research, science and innovation.
  • Communications and Outreach: Manage a variety of outreach and communications-related tasks, including but not limited to overseeing the science newsletters, social media support and collating science and technology-related news articles for both internal and external audiences. Draft a variety of written material including news releases, articles, newsletters, blog posts and correspondence.
  • Project Coordination: Assist in managing and scheduling science diplomacy projects (Diplomatic Circle) and delegation visits.
  • ‘Connecting the dots’ & Networking: Act as a connector between people and ideas. Get connected with scientists and researchers and look for synergies. Attend relevant events, conferences and meetings in China. Cultivate existing relations with partners and stakeholders and develop new contacts and networks in China.
  • Assist the team with the organization and implementation of special events and high-profile delegation visits.
  • Other administrative and support duties such as organization of weekly staff meeting as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Swiss or Chinese passport holder (CN / CH citizenship only)
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree (not older than 1 year), preferably from a Swiss University or University of Applied Sciences
  • Experience or strong understanding of the fields of science, technology and innovation
  • Strong competency in conducting research and excellent writing skills
  • Enthusiasm for swissnex’s mission: furthering and promoting Swiss excellence in education, research and innovation
  • Prior experience in event organization and/or project management in a similar field welcome
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
