swissnex China lectures: Cosmology
The first Shanghai Particle Physics and Cosmology Symposium (SPCS), has been organized by the Institute of Nuclear, Particle, Astronomy and Cosmology (INPAC) and the Shanghai Jiao Tong University. swissnex China participated as sponsor and host of the swissnex China Lecture on Cosmology, held in the Faculty club at the Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The guest speaker Dr. Peter Jenni, CERN shared his insights and experiences of his work at CERN, Switzerland. Starting with a look back, he shared some information about the LHC, and further milestones like the general prupose detectors ATLAS and CMS, ALICE and LHCb. CERN, founded in 1954 has come a long way, numerous countries became members over the past years, therefore CERN is also known as “world laboratory”. An internationally renowned audience of cosmologists, physicists and relativists was present and rewarded his lecture with grand appreciation.
