BBQ Lectures for EXPO 2010

— filed under:

Sino-Swiss Dialogue featuring Art, Science and Society

During the World Expo Shanghai many roundtables, workshops and other events will take place to share knowledge and experiences. Under the theme of “Better City, Better Life”, swissnex China together with Pro Helvetia and Minsheng Art Museum are delighted to present the excellent BBQ LECTURES focusing art, science and society on each last Thursday from June to October 2010.

The BBQ Lectures will focus on five specific topics for debate, which will be “Art and Museum”, “Design and Architecture”, “Thinking and Innovation”, “Mobility and Integration” as well as “Rubbish and Leftover”. We are not looking for a comprehensive overview, but for a challenging, even a controversial point of view that shows the significance of the issue and the complexity involved when dealing with it.

For each topic, we are inviting different speakers from both Switzerland and China so as to create a Sino-Swiss dialogue. We will bring together concepts, solutions, and visions drawn from art / artistic expression and science / research. Together with this “food for thought” will be food for stomach available as well (barbecue). Pavilion
