E+ Program for the “Albert Einstein” exhibition

Nobel Lectures Series

The 100th anniversary of the theory of relativity was commemorated by a hugely successful exhibition in Bern / Switzerland in 2005 which is starting its China tour at the China Science and Technology Museum in Beijing before going to Guangzhou, Hongkong and Shanghai.

For the exhibition, swissnex China organizes several high-level events taking place in the respective cities: In a “Nobel Lecture” series, Nobel Prize Laureates from Switzerland and renowned Swiss and Chinese scientists are invited to give a series of lectures for the academic and general public. In this lecture series we want to explore what Einstein may mean for us today. How can we follow his lead? How can we foster creative thinking? How to become the Einstein of today? Nobel Prize Laureates and outstanding scientists from China and Switzerland will try to find answers to these questions and give us insights into their research approach and the major challenges of science today.

An afternoon under the motto “Meeting the Astronauts” brings together Swiss and Chinese astronauts and allows students and the interested public to interact with the professionals in an open, creative manner.

The leading ideas of the framework program is to increase the understanding of the importance of science and technology for everyday life, to bring together the high potentials of China and Switzerland, to present Switzerland as a top location for science, technology and innovation and to foster interest in studying in and cooperating with Switzerland.
